Joyce Yang

For over a decade, storytelling has been central to my career. Now, I help others write and edit the narratives they hold about themselves.

I’ve spent over 300 hours journeying with young adults at private and community settings, including Youthline and ECTA's (Executive Counselling Training Academy) on-campus clinic.

I currently work as a freelance counsellor & therapist in Singapore, and sometimes get to write about mental health for news sites.

Interests

Low mood and anxiety

Stress and burnout

Attachment and relationship issues

Interpersonal challenges

Feelings of low self-worth

Approach

I combine psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches to help clients make sense of their pasts in a constructive manner.

When helpful, I may also incorporate techniques from Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
